What Adventure Games are you playing - Lucien21 - 09-29-2025 I played through "The Expanse" from Telltale. 5 episodes plus the bonus episode. Took about 9 hours. It was typical Telltale fair with QTE's (although very easy) a couple of sneak past drones bits, but mostly explore and solve puzzles or talk to people. Being in space means there is a element of verticality when looking for stuff. Float around in weightlessness. I really like the IP, the books and TV show are great. It is a prequel as one of the characters appears at the start of the Show. I liked it RE: What Adventure Games are you playing - Octavi Navarro - 09-29-2025 The story and characters are great in this one. RE: What Adventure Games are you playing - PrincessPearl - 09-29-2025 I just finished Mask of Eternity last night. It's the only Kings Quest I had never completed. I'm glad I played it, I never want to play it again. Have you played Warp Frontier? I beta-tested it and the author told me he was heavily inspired by The Expanse. It's a more traditional point & click adventure than the Telltale games. You may also like Star Trek: Resurgence, if you haven't played it yet. One of the recent highlights for me is Dragon Detective: A Friend From the Shadows. Most Ace-Attorney-like games seem interminably slow to me, but DD actually has good pacing as well as some nice additions to the formula (like deduction boards), and it's a lovely game overall. I'm playing Agatha Christie -- Death on the Nile now, and I'm not enjoying it. It's just silly that every passenger has a piece of luggage with a fantastically contrived locking mechanism, and the result is almost a Myst-like game. And interacting with various moving parts (especially rotating ones) is not smooth at all when playing with a mouse and keyboard. Besides, it's possible to skip voiced lines only when they are repeated, so the part where we have to switch between two characters and talk to all the passengers drags on and on. RE: What Adventure Games are you playing - srnickolas - 09-29-2025 I just finished The Biggleboss Incident, its a short three hour corporate horror comedic adventure. It had a nice cast of characters, an original setting and a kind of cool ending for me at least. But it was really easy and sort with a bulk of its time being some lengthy dialogues that kind of dragged the experience a bit, the kind of pointless ones that you often find in comedic adventures. Anyway you can speed click them at least and although it was really easy it had a nice flow with its multi floored interconnected puzzles even if over relying on the fetch archetype. I think it deserves a playthrough if you are in the mood for a short play RE: What Adventure Games are you playing - Geisterfaust - 09-30-2025 My main playthrough at the moment, when I can find the time between work, is Kathy Rain 2. Enjoying it a lot so far, it really takes all the good stuff from the the first game and elevates it, such as the conversation/investigation mechanics. (Love being able to talk to characters about all the hotspots around them) Other than that, I'm still aiming to finish the Crimson Diamond (which is great so far, but I'd forgotten how bad I am at text parsers) as well as beating the final two DLC:s of Rise of the Golden Idol (I do have to say that the inital fun of the Golden Idol-style of puzzling is starting to become a bit of a chore now, hah). RE: What Adventure Games are you playing - Lucien21 - 09-30-2025 Warp Frontier looks fun will add to the list. I did play Star Trek: Resurgence recently in Aug. Quote:Finished Star Trek: Resurgence RE: What Adventure Games are you playing - LeftHandedGuitarist - 09-30-2025 I loved Star Trek: Resurgence! It really nailed the '90s Trek vibe, and I was pulled in by the characters and the story. It's a shame that the whole thing looked like it was from the late 2000s. I started with DLC 3. It's the first one chronologically, so I thought it would make sense to start here. But yeah, deduction games can be quite taxing if you play too much at once. |
