Congrats on the launch! And to get that kind of review on the Hotspot, you definitely had to earn it, so well done! Smile

Only just finished the prologue myself, but looking forward to lots of meaty adventuring ahead.

@inklingwood, I don't think it came up in the Hotspot interview -- can I ask what framework, if any, you used to develop FM?

Sophie programmed it in Visionaire Studio Smile (And again, it's the first thing she's ever programmed...! It's like a scene in the Matrix watching her at work - I don't understand a quarter of it, haha).

Haven't been this excited about starting a new game since Return to Monkey Island - loving exploring Devil's Rock so far!

Finished it, a top of the line adventure, clearly inspired by Monkey island 2 in it's structure, one of my personal favorite adventures, though a distinct experience, not a blatant copy or full of constant Easter eggs or nostalgia berries. Quality is superb (voice acting, music, animation, art), puzzles are a joy being open world, multi layered and complex without being unfair (if you are a seasoned player be sure to turn off hints in the menu) and interesting story and characters. Only slight inconvenience for me was that the characters gave a lot of exposition dialogue especially at the start and found the big "decorative" comedic dialogue options to be a bit overwhelming, cause you have to click at everything to be sure not to miss any hints and it may be a bit tiresome. Though this is mitigated as you progress because the characters become more connectable and familiar, the voice acting and character art is excellent and you can always at least breeze through by just clicking (except some cutscenes). Also the creators are obviously seasoned players themselves and it shows because there are quality features in game like varied answers to failed actions that make sense, skippable time puzzles via the menu (many people dislike them or can't handle them), constant hotspot indicator if you want and everything accessible via the mouse (all three buttons) because it's a point and click and I don't want to use the keyboard (duh!), map and manor shortcuts, detailed rooms with many hotspots offering "decoys" and making environments feel "natural" and fluid, minimal or no usage of routine puzzles (codes, mundane mechanical puzzles, labyrinths... ) and generally puzzles well connected to the story, all that coupled with a comfortable user interface (many save slots and autosave) and font and a solid for me ending chapter and conclusion without feeling abrupt. Its a thumbs up from me, kudos!

Thanks, srnickolas, it sounds like the devs addressed (almost) everything icky from adventure games past and made a fun game. I’m moving this to my wishlist but won’t buy until I clear out some of my backlog.

I absolutely loved one certain musical scene. Didn't know I was listening to a puzzle. Bravo.
Not spoiling anything.

This is me the other night settling in to start Foolish Mortals with a cup of tea, a massive candle, my Macbook Air connected to the 'big television'  Smile  and my mouse on the sofa.
