I never lost my reading habit, so I don’t know about that. I also never lost my gaming habit—I am always playing something, although that amounts to a whole lot more puzzle games than story games. If I get the adventure bug but have limited playtime, I go for a room escape. They are adventure-adjacent in terms of gameplay, and they can be completed in anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple of hours. Anyway, they scratch the itch for not much investment of time or money. RE: How do you find time to play? - kamineko - 11-24-2025 I've started playing games for a couple of hours on Friday and Saturday evenings since I've got my first decent computer, and this habit persists for decades now, to the point where it feels like a weekend is wasted if I don't. They both are heavy gamers as adults but never play AGs. Hahaha!! So I guess if I want my son to become an adventure gamer, all I do is wait until he is about 12, and then pretend I’m REALLY into beat-them-ups or football games? (The downside being: I would have to spend time playing beat-them-ups or football games.)
RE: How do you find time to play? - BobVP - 11-24-2025 lol! How this thread bring out the humour in you people, I don't know, but I'm here for it. RE: How do you find time to play? - Wild Boar - 11-24-2025 Last night I dreamt that I should start playing WoW again. Which wouldn't be a good idea after at least three add-ons. The problem with adventures, however, is that you have to play them quickly, otherwise you lose the thread. RE: How do you find time to play? - Hexenwerk - 11-24-2025 Fortunately, at least adventures usually don't have a possible playtime of 700+ hours like some roleplaying games ... ![]() Even if it's "just" 40 hours ... sometimes a short adventure with about 8-12h can be just perfect. RE: How do you find time to play? - Wild Boar - 11-24-2025 I'm excited to see the Steam overview, but even for 10 hours, I need a good two weeks. Those were games I liked; awful ones like Face Noir take even longer, unless I quit playing them. WoW would have the advantage that, at least in theory, you don't have to play. In practice, it was a 2-3 hour commitment every day. RE: How do you find time to play? - Rubacava - 11-25-2025 I don't RE: How do you find time to play? - Piero - 11-26-2025 Me, I only have the patience for 4 or 5 adventures per year and mostly in the winter months. I really enjoy the sense of nostalgia from playing or re-playing old games, as well as the fun of trying new things with all the QOL improvements they bring (like Foolish Mortals)! I rarely play other types of game and when I do I get about 1% the satisfaction I get from playing a good adventure game. RE: How do you find time to play? - srnickolas - 11-29-2025 I mainly play Adventure Games at night, it helps with my Insomnia, picking my brain tires it enough until it exhausts it and I go to sleep. So no activity or obligation conflicts or time constrains for me |
