I only play “The Lost Crown” every 1-2 years. I would like to play “The Raven” again, but as a classic crime adventure, I know who the perpetrator is, so there's no point.
I wanted to play “Memento Mori” after years, but it crashed after just two minutes.

At the moment, thanks to “Winter Burrow,” I'm moving away from it and would rather play Skyrim and Enshrouded because of the opportunity to discover worlds and craft.

In reality, I don't have time for anything right now except solving one Sudoku puzzle a day.

I treat replaying almost like how I treat rewatching a film or TV show. The surprises won't be there the second time around, but there are usually details you didn't pick up on. And sometimes it's nice just being in a particular world for a little bit.

I agree. I also think as you get older, if you replay a game that you haven't played since you were young, you look at it in a different way because you yourself are different. The same with books, movies, and TV

That's how I felt about “Herdling” (not an adventure game): all the little hints that I hadn't noticed before, and some of which I hadn't even seen, suddenly made sense.
Maybe I should give “The Raven” another chance in this regard. The game is like an Agatha Christie mystery, and in fact, she is openly embodied in one of the characters.

But it's a summer game, and at the moment, I don't feel very comfortable in the corset of adventure games.

I enjoy replaying games. When I first started playing adventures circa 1999, there were fewer games being made for the Mac OS compared to Windows. Any I could find were cherished and replayed often, and I've kept up the habit over the years. Also, since I have a soft spot for 1st person games and fewer of them are made, I tend to replay them the most. Some I've replayed during community playthroughs and others because they have different endings, but I replay mostly because I’m in the mood to get lost in a particular world or need the uplift of humor from some of my favorites.

Times have changed. I used to replay games all the time. When I got into adventure gaming in my teens (1992) there just weren't that many games to choose from. They also had limited shelf life; you didn't find older games in stores. A game would also take weeks, even months. I remember Police Quest 1 even took me years (damn taxi phone number...)

These days, you can't keep up with new games coming out, so I rarely replay a game. Once in a while I replay a game from my teens. But a modern game has to be extremely great should I feel like replaying it. I have a list of favorite games I might replay someday, but I'll have to plan it in just as I do with those classic replays. I also might replay games I've tested earlier to get the final product experience, and for blogging purposes.

Multiple endings alone don't do it for me, either. If it's a good enough game, it might make my list of future replays, but I'll probably make the same choices anyway. I don't like changing the way I play, making counter-intuitive choices, to achieve a particular ending. I'm not a good enough RPG'er for that. I'm in it for the story, and once a story has played itself out, that's it. Then the only way I will revisit it is if I find the time to do so like rewatching a favorite movie or rereading a favorite book; they always remain the same story, as well.

Usually I don't replay games. Because besides work and personal projects, there isn't so much time, and there are so many awesome games out there that I want to play.

There are a few classics though that I have played more than once, like Monkey Island. Sometimes I replay games when a new title of a series is released, to get into the world of the game again. Like Kathy Rain for example.
And then there are huge games like Baldur's Gate 3. I played it through completely once, but because of the different options for characters, companions and decisions, I start a new playthrough now and then. Not intending to replay the whole game.

And sometimes I return to a game like Skyrim, since I still like the atmosphere. It's immersion into another world.

I also visited Skyrim thrice, twice as a female Argonian, make of that what you will.

Day Of The Tentacle, three times beginning to end, with three different (groups of) friends. The animations and dynamic iMuse sound design are incredibly good! The remake looks great, the original pixels are cute.

Day of the Tenatcle! That was the one that I started to replay recently and dropped. I hand not forgotten that I played it before, though. This time around, it was the remastered one that’s on iOS, and the added voice acting is godawful and kinda ruined it for me.

Really! Wow! I *love* the voice acting in Day of the Tentacle.

"Laverne, how'd you get upstairs?"
"Am I upstairs? I got lost..."
"Seen any tentacles?"
"What's a tentacle?"
Enter Doctor Fred: "OH JUST SOMETHING I WHIPPED UP IN MY SPARE TIME! MADE GOOD PETS ACTUALLY! UNTIL ONE OF THEM TRIED TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!"
"Oh...good thing you told us that."
"Yeah, Bernard wanted us to set them free."
Fred's eyes bug out. "DID YOU SAY **BERNARD?***"

AH! I act that scene out with my big brother and little sister all the time. Probably my favorite voice acting in any game.
