An educated guess, Wild Boar doesn't like 1st-person perspective, based on what they wrote in another thread:

Quote: "Mystlike games are the worst for me. That's why I don't like first-person games, among other things, because the world is so lifeless."

Hopefully that clarifies things with what Wild Boar meant.

That's what I was thinking too but I wanted to play with the wild boar for a little bit. Smile

I didn't forget about you,  I've been busy getting to this day.  I'll reach out to you soon.

By the way, Ghostlady, congratulations on the remake!

I’ve watched both trailers and looked through the screenshots on Steam.

I like the bright lighting and refreshing atmospheric look of the Widow’s Walk with its expansive viewpoint of trees, swamp water and the gazebo. You can easily imagine there being a cooling breeze blowing through in that scene. Having a curious crow perched on the railing naturally grabs the player’s attention to keep the overall image balanced and intriguing (like the game’s title).

From what I could gleam from the trailers, I consider Dominic to be my personal favourite for voice acting. Whenever a game developer invests in voice acting, I usually end up appreciating those efforts by default.

It’s not the kind of adventure game I would personally play, but nevertheless, a job well done on completing your passion project.

Thanks for the congrats, Legerdemancy!

Interestingly, the outside graphics were created in Bryce, a digital photo software which most graphic artists today probably never heard of.  It was all about texture.  Artists used to take pictures, of a tree for example, and then import that photo into Bryce to use for the texture of a digital tree. Before remastering the game, I considered AI and ran some of the images through an AI Enhancer and it made the images look very flat.  The swamp no longer looked alive.  So I decided to trash the AI and use the images as is and then worked on bettering the inventory items, which were really pixelated, and some of the puzzles.  I'd like to note that Steve Ince (Broken Sword artist) worked with me on enhancing the graphics.  He also created the tarot cards and updated the "spiritboard".

The voice actor for Dominic was Jason Rugg and he did an amazing job.  He also does the voice for Joe in the game, who has a Louisiana Cajun dialect, which he was able to do from a really old black and white movie that I found for him on YouTube.  You can learn more about him here:  https://www.jasonrugg.com/

The voice actor for Daphne was Miranda Gauvin, who also voice acted Marinda in "Haunting At Cliffhouse". Funny about the names. She is an amazing voice actor also and you can learn about her here:  https://www.mirandagauvin.com/
