Adventure Game Podcasts - outrageoustugofwar - 11-13-2025
I follow two great adventure game podcasts: Podcasts | Adventure Game Hotspot (of course) and Adventure Games Podcast.
I found this one searching around, but it seems to be inactive (although the associated YouTube channel is still active): YakWaxLips - YouTube
Anyone know of any others?

Great, it's always good to find new adventure podcasts to try and I haven't listened to any of the above, but will certainly do so
I like Save Your Game hosted by Pushing Up Roses and Matt Aukamp.
There's also Dos Game Club who only do a couple of adventure games a year but I find them always worth listening to.
The grand daddies of them all though, for me, are Eaten By a Grue who are Carrington Vanston and Kay Savetz. They are largely inactive these days but have covered every Infocom game ever released as well as a couple of point n clicks. Ma

I find myself very sensitive to the hosts on a podcast - how they speak, what kind of personality they bring to things, annoying banter vs. scripted, those who just laugh at their own jokes - and they will really make or break one for me. So although I've listened to everything posted so far, I have quite a small selection that I enjoy.
I like DOS Game Club quite a bit. Classic Gaming Today is excellent.

I will never understand why podcast hosts think anyone wants to hear their casual banter and especially their inside jokes (with an occasional exception for actual comedians). But then I remember that millions of people used to listen to morning talk radio which was basically hours and hours of casual banter and inside jokes, so...

The only one I listen to continually is Save your game - interesting discussions, not just focused on nostalgia/old school, great guests and some ACTUAL chemistry and good banter between the hosts! I've tried some other ones, but they've been a bit too stiff and lacking in fun/charisma (for lack of a better word) for my taste.
(Although, I used to love listening to Blue Cup Tools Podcast with Grundislav/Francisco González and Ben304/Ben Chandler as well, but that one's sadly not available to listen to anymore, as far as I know...)

I like some banter as long as the hosts have some chemistry. What's important for me is that there is a flow to the proceedings overall. That's why I tend to prefer podcasts that typically have more than one presenter because the flow often comes through their interaction.
For German speakers, Stay Forever has been going for eons and has covered lots of the classic point n clicks amongst many others.

I massively appreciated the Adventure Game Studio community back in 2006, and I was a fan for many years even though I never joined the forum. AGH felt like my second chance to be part of something similar.
