Replies are invisible in threads when I'm logged in - arcanetrivia - 09-28-2025 This is sure a weird one. If I'm not logged into the site, when I view a thread, I see all the replies just as I would expect to. When I'm logged in, it seems like that part of the page simply isn't rendered. I don't get the link to Page 1, Page 2 etc. and after the first post, I just get the footer part (where it says "View printable version", "Send this thread to a friend", and "Users browsing this thread").   This doesn't change if I try a different browser or turn off Firefox's tracking protection and uBlock (I doubted either of those could be the culprit, but it's usually the first thing I try). Logging in simply seems to mean I can't see the whole thread. It's bizarre. RE: Replies are invisible in threads when I'm logged in - Jackal - 09-28-2025 Oof, yeah, this is bizarre, all right. I don't suppose you changed any display settings when you registered, like disabling signatures or smileys? Neither of those things should cause something like this, obviously, but may as well rule out the more obvious answers first. I don't suppose there's a way to check to see if it's happening on another device altogether? I went through and frobbed things one by one, and it seems the culprit is in the Thread View Options, trying to use Threaded instead of Linear. If I change that to Linear it works. (Or Default, which explains the behavior of logging out also fixing the problem.) RE: Replies are invisible in threads when I'm logged in - Jackal - 09-30-2025 Okay, good puzzle solve! Hopefully we can figure out why Threaded is borking things up so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Should be resolved by now, if anyone likes to use that view option for some reason.
