Very unrelatd to the topic that draws us together, but I'm curious whether people here play sports or have any hobbies relating to physical activity.

I ride a longboard and do some light skateboarding as well. I ride my bicycle a lot, though it's mostly for work. I do enjoy it quite a bit. I frequently do strenght training, bench press, curls, squats, stuff like that. I gained a decent amount of muscle mass the past four years.

I used to sprint - I was fast! I also took longer runs, two, two-and-a-half hours. I did some basic strenght training to go with it, push ups, pull ups and curls. I was mostly built for speed in my twenties. I still do sprints to keep my condition in order, but I don't push myself like I used to in this field.

I've been thinking about joining a team sport, but I'm not sure which one. I'm mostly interested in the social aspect. Maybe I'll join a gym.

I'm curious about the rest of you. Maybe you don't do anything physical, but you're quite good at chess, or bridge? Maybe you don't play, but you are an ardent fan? You have a favourite team?

 Share your sports-related hobbies here!

I’m old and fat and like nothing better than sitting on my butt. That being said, I sometimes shift my butt-sitting to my kayak and float on the water with occasional paddling just to change the scenery.

That rocks. I did that once, on a school trip, many years ago. I've read about other people's trips and it seems like one of the best things in the world.

I like hiking and long walks. I try to walk a minimum of 10000 steps a day

That's great for your body and your mind.

Come to think of it, that activity is actually adventure game related! Smile

Walking and using my stationary bike are the easiest exercizes for me now. After breaking my arm two years ago, I had physical therapy and try to do my wall pushups regularly for strength. I played tennis (poorly) and bowled (adequately) in college, but bowling with friends is out now.

Dang.. I hope you're doing better now! Good on you for taking on physical therapy, some people become overly careful, to the point of avoidance.

I have WII-U, which allows for the digital equivalent of bowling. Not quite the same, but quite fun, with the right group of people.

I used to play Wii bowling, back when I had a Wii. My mother became somewhat obsessed with it (and still is to this day, to the point where she has bought not one but two used Wiis over the years). She always used to get mad at me because I would beat her by sitting in my recliner and rolling the ball via a flick of the wrist. She thought it was Not Proper, while I called it Butt Bowling. I got a 290 once, and that really chapped her hide :p She has not once invited me to play Wii bowling at her house.

I've been thinking about taking up lap swimming or joining a run club (those are very popular activities in Australia), but right now I mostly just go for 10km daily walks and do kettle bell workouts to stay fit.

Speaking of the Wii, though, I used to play Wii Sports Resort while on the treadmill. They had this mode where your mii could run around the island. The game's intention was to just run on the spot, I think, but it worked amazing paired with a treadmill and helped keep the mind engaged.
