Hi, everyone!
I could use some help.
I’m currently working on a text-based game where you create magic and use it to complete trials. Though it’s probably more of a website than a regular web game.
So far I’ve only added fire and air. The idea is that you don’t pick spells from a list — you try to discover them yourself, then use them in trials. So each trial is a puzzle, but you also have to come up with the tool for solving it.
In my head it feels like a really cool idea Big Grin , but I can see how it could easily end up confusing or frustrating instead. So I’d really appreciate honest feedback: does this sound interesting at all, what feels missing, and what problems do you see right away?
I’m posting here because I think it’s at least somewhat close to puzzles and adventure games.
For now it’s just a very early prototype: https://evergrowing-codex.com/

I played the first scene with success at every step. It’s easy to figure out. I like the flexibility in terms of wording my responses to the challenges. Nice artwork, too. From my initial foray, it looks very slick and well-implemented. But kinda slow. Good luck with it. I do think there’s an audience for this type of experience, but it’s not for me.
