Hi everyone,

I'm the creator and owner of The Worlds of Origin, a sci-fi point-and-click adventure, and I'm directly involved in its development. I'd like to share the free demo, Dig Site 6, and hear how it plays for fellow adventure-game fans.

Mira and Edric are on an archaeological expedition on Etera II, investigating remarkably well-preserved alien ruins. Explore the opening chamber, talk with your companions and work through environmental and inventory puzzles as the team gathers evidence about the civilization's age.

Play the demo: https://world-of-origin.com/e1p1/index.html

It runs directly in a desktop browser with mouse controls. The game is English only. There is no download and no account is required to play; an optional verified account supports manual saves.

This is Part 1 of Episode 1, Forbidden Knowledge. The complete episode is still in development, with its release date to be determined.

I'd particularly appreciate feedback on two things:

1. Controls: Is it clear how to move, examine things and use the interface? If an interaction was confusing, where did that first happen?

2. Puzzle clarity: Do the clues and the game's responses give you enough information to decide what to try next? If you felt stuck, what seemed to be missing?

Even a short attempt is useful. For technical problems, please mention your browser, device and what happened. Please keep puzzle solutions out of replies so others can discover them for themselves.

For transparency, development uses AI-assisted tools, including coding assistance, generated visual assets and generated dialogue voices.

Thanks for taking a look. I'm happy to discuss your feedback here.

Usually I don't play games made with AI, but the game's premise kind of drew me in.

I'd say you overdid it in this department, it's too clear if that is even possible.

Based on two puzzles - everything is fine, but too easy.

P.S. Also I filled the questionnaire after the demo's end.

Thanks for playing, kamineko, and for filling in the questionnaire!
I’m glad the premise caught your interest, and I appreciate you giving it a chance.
The puzzles in Part 1 are deliberately on the easier side: I wanted the opening to be accessible to people who are new to point-and-click adventures too. Part 2 will bring more challenging puzzles.
It’s helpful to hear your thoughts on the amount of guidance as well. I’ll keep that balance in mind while working on the next part.
Thanks again for sharing your feedback!

Here’s the new 60-second trailer for The Worlds of Origin!
It combines scenes from the opening cinematic with actual gameplay: the expedition ship, Etera II, exploration in the window chamber and a glimpse of the changing-symbol puzzle, without revealing its solution.

The demo is English-only and plays in a desktop browser, with no download or required account. It covers Part 1 of Episode 1; the complete first episode is still in development.

I’d love to hear whether the trailer gives you a clear sense of the exploration and puzzle-solving!
