Blackwell Unbound got the most votes.

I say we go for it. It's fairly short, even compared to the rest of the Blackwell games.

With some luck the forum will have welcomed some new members for the next round.

I wanted to do an evaluation of the last playthrough. At first it seemed to be over before it started, but the the continued engagement by participants after they'd finished the game really pulled us through, I'd like to thank all of them and Hexenwerk in particular.

I think the playthrough would've worked better with Unbound as a prequel chapter to The Blackwell Convergence. There's not a lot of content and most of it is dialog puzzles. Simply put - it was short and streamlined, checkpoints would've been entirely arbitrary and interrupting the flow of the game.

There's some things I came across and want to do different, most of it's not really that interesting to others. This might be: use an external image hosting server, it's easier to see what you're posting, how it comes out and it's easier to edit if necessary.

More general questions:

What should be the miminum amount of participants? In the end it's probably up to a leader, but it might be good to discuss it beforehand.

1. How long between community playthroughs? One after the other, once every couple of months, or just whenever someone spontaneously takes the initiative?

2. Are there people willing to lead a playthrough?

3. Joe suggested leaderless playthroughs, are people up for this?

I enjoyed the playthrough, though you are correct that the game was too short to be as successful as we might have hoped. In hindsight, it's not surprising that people finished so quickly, but I'm also glad that the discussion continued.

1. I'd love one community playthrough a month or so, but would also be happy with just starting one whenever a previous one has finished (especially if the games are short!) - e.g., right now I'm eager for a new one to start!
2. This is the tricky part! In theory I'd be happy to lead a playthrough, I'm just not sure I'd be any good at it! I fear that my play style may not suit it.
3. Leaderless playthroughs are okay by me; I think they would just need set sections for everyone to try and reach before continuing.

I enjoyed the game but yeah, too short to really be engaging in this setting.

1. It may depend on the amount of time it take to finish a game ? A three hours game every month feels short, but another more difficult game could need more "recharge" time if you see what I mean ?
2. Doing a lot of stuff on the side, I'm not sure if I would be consistent enough to be a leader.
3. Leaderless playthroughs would be nice ! A community playthrough is for peoples to advance together and help each other. I wouldn't be weird to not have a leader.

1. Once a month sounds good. I don't know if it's feasible, but it could be done with more active users on the forums.
2. I led one, but I don't know if I was any good at it. I mostly did it to promote a hugely underrated game (IMAGinE).
3. As I said before, for a leaderless game it needs to be hard; otherwise, everybody would just finish it in a few hours and maybe post some thoughts afterwards, and that would be it. It would be no different to a typical thread about a specific game. But are people here interested in playing those games? Perhaps the leaderless format would work better if there were more people on the forum.

Thanks for the input!

Joe, your playthrough was great and IMAGinE was a pleasant surprise. LHG, you defintely came through - no pressure, but I'd be happy to see a playthrough with you as a leader at some point.

I think we can run a poll after new years eve. I guess the amount of active users is going to play a part, we'll just have to wait and see. We could run it for a couple of weeks.

I'm setting up a text adventure playthrough thread in a moment. I'll explain how they work in the first post.

Hi Joe, I really enjoyed taking part in your IMAGinE playthrough which was especially nice as I would otherwise have never come across that fun & interesting game!
