As someone who has never really scratched the surface of text adventures I quite like the sound of that if it were to happen and I'd try to participate if there was one.

Over the years I have enjoyed occasionally playing text adventures. ScummVM supports various interactive fiction engines; including ADRIFT text adventures which are the variant I've played the most of. This makes it heaps easier to ensure compatibility with newer systems.

ClusterLizard, I highly recommend playing "The PK Girl". It's not a text-only adventure in the puritan sense of the word, however, the vast majority of it is experienced through a text parser.

Good to see some appreciation for text adventures, I'd be glad to run one of those after this one. The format is different: participants make suggestions, the leader types the input in the parser and types out the result in a post. Very accessible for new players.

Joe, could you give us some idea of how a difficult/leaderless playthrough would work?

Last round to make suggestions. I'll make a poll next friday. Fair chance I'm leading this one, if you want to prevent this: sign up to lead a game!
