Has anyone played it? It's seemingly inspired by Maniac Mansion to the point of using the same engine and mechanics. It looks interesting but it also seems to have either flown under everyone's radar or... maybe it's just not good and everyone has chosen to ignore it.

Either way, have anyone here bothered?

Yes i played it a bit, I found it quite challenging with complicated puzzle combinations between your cast, so I backlocked it for when i had more time in my hands. The couple hours I played it seemed interesting. Its also surprising to me it hasnt gained more momentum, maybe poor coverage and marketing.

I wonder if the generic name is a bit of an issue here? I was surprised that it's seemingly received no coverage on YouTube as it would seem like the type of game that a lot of P'n'C fans would enjoy. I did play it a bit now though, and I agree that my first impression is that it's certainly not the easiest game though and more old school like Maniac Mansion in puzzles. That's just less than an hour of playing though, so I'm not sure how different combos will affect the puzzles / outcomes.

Yeah "the castle" is too generic, there ought to be a lot of games named that, I am certain i've played a mac exclusive adventure named "the castle" in the past for example.

I very much enjoyed it. Yes, it’s a reskinned MM but there is a wrinkle that I can’t remember. 

I like everything the devs put out.

I never played The Castle but their other game on Steam - The Adventures of Skye - is really good. Highly recommend it.

The Legend of Skye enjoys a silent popularity on this forum, it even made it to #5 on the list of Community Top 10 Adventure Games of the 2020-2025.

I've played for 30 minutes then found myself in an unbeatable state. Didn't restart.

Legend of Skye was okay but quite difficult at times. Looking very much forward to Mesektet now.
