I can remember endless details about 200 adventure games but I'm completely blind when I see still pictures from them.

That's true, often here I see games that I cant't believe they belong to a specific title. Some of these games are 10, 20, 30 or even more years ago its crazy

Making Sir Arthur Conan Doyle a character was a clever and original move!
