Mine should be Mortville Manor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortville_Manor
The game takes place in France in the 1950s The plot begins in the office of Jérôme Lange, a famous private detective, who receives a letter from his childhood friend Julia Defranck, in which she writes that she is ill and asks him to investigate strange events at Mortville Manor. Upon arrival, Jérôme is informed of Julia's death with a storm approaching, and begins his search around the manor.
Apparently, I was still too young, naive, incapable. In any case, I never got very far. As an adult, things would be very different, because you proceed logically and methodically.

After having some experience of observing/trying games that I now know to be categorized in different genres my first adventure game experiences were with Myst, which I only played a little of at the time then gave up, & then tried Broken Sword which I also gave up on as it was too wordy! Following that I got quite hooked on Clocktower....I can't remember if I got to an ending at the time?? I tried a few other games then went back to persevering with Broken Sword which is now one of my favourite games ever & my launch into the adventure game genre.
At the time, Bob, I scoured a lot of magazines (no internet!!!), saw the game mentioned & visited a (Virgin?) store which just happened to have it!
I still have that game for PS1 + the consol.
i can't believe I nearly dismissed Broken Sword!!!

The first Clock Tower game got a rerelease somewhat recently after previously only (officially) being available in Japanese: https://store.steampowered.com/app/27947...er_Rewind/ (apparently Clock Tower 2 was just called 'Clock Tower' when that one did get a translation and release in NA and EU on Playstation)
I've not played any of the Clock Tower games but I'm pretty sure I'll like them whenever I get around to them - the mix of point and clicking with survival horror is intriguing.

I think i was 7 or 8 when I played an obscure little game on my Amstrad 6158. It was a kind of side view platformer adventure hybrid type of game like the dizzy ones but you controlled a character resembling i think a Viking. It was the first game I played with an inventory. I remembered I was shocked when I realized by sheer coincidence that the way past some bees that would always kill me was by leaving the honey I collected earlier near the bees, it would attract them and by carefully timing my action I could avoid them (what an interesting gameplay mechanic I thought!). Can't remember the name of the game any more. Then I played along with my brother (who is 4 years older) various games like Monkey Island and Dark seed on our Amiga 500 (with 1 Mg memory extension
), but the first one I properly finished by myself was either Leisure suit Larry (EGA) or Loom, can't really remember

One quick guess, Could it possibly be this game called "Stormlord"? It was a side-view platformer-adventure released on Amstrad and a variety of other systems. It even mentions about using honey to attract the bees.

Hey that must be it yes!!! Thank you for taking time to find it, means a lot to me! I will play it again on an emulator for the nostalgia
You're welcome, Srnickolas! I'm glad I got to help you find that long-lost game that kickstarted your enthusiasm for the adventure genre!
I did a bit of thinking:
first actual adventure game was a text adventure on my Amstrad CPC464 called Heroes of Karn, c. 1987. I loved this but it was so difficult to get anywhere because the parser was so limited. It also had some really nice still graphics which bumped the atmosphere up.
first point-and-click thingy was probably Space Quest on my friend's 386 PC, c. 1990. Again, I absolutely loved it and the mixture of excitement and frustration (because of the horrible deaths) was pure teenage angst.
