Feels like Thimbleweed Park has a very similar vibe to Stranger Things, and it’s not just the 80s nostalgia. Both have that mix of small-town weirdness, government-style conspiracies hidden in plain sight, and characters who seem over the top at first but end up being surprisingly memorable....

I didn't get Thimbleweed Park vibes, but both have the same awesome nostalgia and a certain type of horror vibes. Like Tales from the Loop.

I am looking forward to the last season of Stranger Things so much, but I'll have to wait until all episodes are out, since I definitely won't subscribe to Netflix for more than a month to watch them all.

Never watched the show, but I'm curious now. From what I understand, Dungeons & Dragons was/is a big part of the show - it'd be cool if Rubacava was right and they're incorporating adventure game references into the series as well.

Hmmm they’re basically contemporary. Stranger things premiered in 2016 and Thimbleweed Park came out in early 2017.... Both were already deep into development at the same time, so there’s no real way one could’ve copied the other i think.

They’re tapping into the same DNA though: Twin Peaks, The X-Files, Spielberg, King, 80s small town mystery, weird science labs etc.., and that mix of humor + darkness.

Yeah, it might be a contemporary version of what Spielberg and Lucas did with the classic adventure serials.

Stranger Things Adventure Game has potential. Somebody phone the bones and dust of Telltale Games, it'd be right up their alley.

Fake Edit: Apparently a Telltale Stranger Things almost did happen. Oh well! I guess Thimbleweed Park will need to be the Stranger Things Adventure Game. Thimbleweed Park could be improved if they added Dustin Henderson in the next patch.
