Would it be worth having a sub-forum dedicated to adventure game devs? A place where people can both show off what they're working on as well as ask for help and guidance in getting started with it?
Hey, LHG. Definitely worth considering, and we've always wanted the forums to be a dev-friendly resource. We'll probably keep things as is for a while, as we'd rather start simple and build out than open up a bunch of little-read subforums too soon. But we'll certainly talk about it!

There seem to be a few adventure game devs here, both new and experienced - me included. I've been working on my game for the past 6 months and am getting nowhere fast with it, being firmly in the 'new' category. I'm personally not keen on larger forums (or forum-adjacent places) like discord or github just because I find them overwhelming. So a sub forum here for sharing ideas / software / coding / graphics info could be a great place to pool resources and get some inspiration, feedback and help.

It might be nice to have a section for adventure devs. Of course it depends on the dev if they are willing to post their stuff like "work in progress" or dev logs in the forum, or ask for help for specific questions when the audience is rather small.
I mean it depends on the tools, questions about engines like Visionaire or tools like Adventure Creator for Unity are probably better answered in the according forums or discords. But I also totally understand that the bigger "engine-communities" can be overwhelming.
What I would definitely love to see is some kind of collection/showcase of "what adventure games have forum members built?", and if there are projects being worked on currently.
And maybe also informations about current adventure game jams.
Could such a section be made visible only for forum members who are registered and logged in, to protect it from AI data scrapers?
