The game is simply too difficult and demands too much too quickly.

I am completely inexperienced when it comes to climbing passages and feel completely overwhelmed. If you feel the same way, you should think carefully before buying this game. Don't be fooled by YouTube videos in which players rock through the locations in a few minutes – it took me hours!
I have now uninstalled the game.
The farmer's wife's crypt was the last straw: when I jump, I land in the embers, and the character won't run to the ledge on the right. Then I do the quest “A Tale of Decay,” arrive at the waypoint, and find nothing I can do. Anyone who likes playing this kind of game probably also enjoys banging their head against a wall until it bleeds. It's pure masochism/sadism, depending on which side you're on.

There are no instructions on how to build or even restore houses.

With the skill trees, I was at least able to figure out the general direction based on ten years of WoW experience. Otherwise, you don't stand a chance here either if you haven't played something similar before.

Conclusion: The game demands too much from the player too quickly. It's only for players who have experience.

I have to revise this review now, as it was probably influenced by a lot of frustration about the bumpy start. The game is really not beginner-friendly and demands a lot right from the start without any explanations.

Once you've gotten through that, you get the most complete game ever: farming, you can let your imagination run wild with your own architecture, and you really have to think about how to conquer the world.

However, I don't understand why I have to do everything myself, despite having servants, from planting and harvesting to mining and caring for animals. I set the opponents to very easy, and there are lots of customization options here too.

There are no fixed skill trees either; you can mix them up however you like. Despite it being in early access, I haven't found any bugs yet, so you should grab it before the game is available at full price in November. I bought it on sale for under 30 euros and probably won't need any other games this year.

The only downside: it's addictive, and “just for a quick play” is an illusion.

I played it a bit. Mostly due to the idea of building. It just takes too much time. Combat seems fun far too relentless. Traversal is entertaining. It’s okay I guess .
