For those of you who collect games, what do you collect,?
I've noticed lately more and more people that have digital game collections. I do too, but my "real" collection, to me, is my physical game collection. I especially like to collect physical adventure games, ranging from early text adventures to modern classics (when they actually get physical releases and I can find them). I have lots of other stuff too though - I like games of all sorts, especially old ones.
What about you?

I love me some big boxes but I only collect the ones I have a personal affinity for. I don't go gobbling up MS Excel 97 or whatever else I can find just because it's in a cardboard box.

I have a decent selection of old big box adventure games – far LESS decent than if I'd held onto all the stuff I once had
– but almost all of them are literally sitting in packing boxes in a spare room now, because I don't have the space to display them all. So they don't actually bring me that much joy anymore, unfortunately. But man, I still treasure the thrill of the hunt from those days!

I haven't been able to collect many games due to needing to move, but I used to collect PC games of all kinds after I spotted a copy of Bad Mojo at a thrift store. It started me further down the rabbit hole of playing more adventure games and classic games. It's fun to go thrifting and see what games you end up with.

I am a large child so I collect way too many things. Aside from the big box pc games and other gaming related memorabilia I collect vintage action figures, antique horror movie posters, and anything history related (major history nerd).
Speaking of collecting, I just got a super cool addition to my big box collection. Will share later.

Primarily a video game collector with some space in my heart for adjacent things like game soundtracks, game documentaries & books on game development.
In a phase of collecting DS games atm + hoping to finally get a CRT screen this year and play some of my older consoles
...and of course I need more big box adventure games

I had a whole 2nd paragraph about vinyl records in my previous reply, but I thought the question was exclusively about game collecting.

A LOT of artbooks and ost (physical mostly, but I love to have them on my mp3 too. Yes.)
Keeping my old games, and if I can, I always try to find physical copies of games I love, even if I have to buy them twice. When I can't, DRM-free games to store them on my drives.
I'm not old enough to have big ol' adventure games boxes. And we didn't yet invented spacial bend to push the walls and keep everything I want in here, along with mangas, cards and all :')

I thought we were just talking about games, but yeah, speaking of being a big kid, I've collected almost every available plush Super Mario (and friends and foes) in existence. Well, at least up until the last few years. Haven't kept up with the Switch-era ones. (You can see a couple on camera in our podcasts, but they literally strantch out across two-plus walls of my office.)
Also collect movies. I swore to myself I wouldn't go 4K crazy, because this will be FOURTH time I'm bought some of my favourites. But let's just say I haven't exactly shown much restraint. (Again.)
