When I am coming to the forum, I have an issues to find a new posts, which I didnt read until now. On mainpage I can recognize by white/grey dot, if there is something new. If I am in thread list, I can see by icon if there are new posts or not. But thats all. It should be good to have easily visible read/unread messages and also have a direct link which will move you to the oldest unread message in that particular thread.
Or this function is somewhere there and I only didnt found it?

Yep, I'd like that feature too, so something along those lines is already on the to-do list. In the meantime, it's not quite the same thing but there are "View New Posts" and "View Today's Posts" options in the menu bar at the top of the page, so you can jump straight to what you've missed.

If you switch the forum theme to "default" under your control panel, those options are now there.

Thanks for your help, it must be "default" and not "use default", like I had. But this will switch whole scheme to light version with white background. It should be good if this feature should be implemented also into the dark version.
Those two menu options sure are confusing in this case. "Default" seems to mean "MyBB's default OTB forum styling", whereas "Use Default" is instead whatever skin that the site admin has set up as being the default for the board (in this case, the AGH styling).
When given the chance to nitpick, I’m always ready! Here goes:
I’m experimenting a bit with using the «Default» MyBB styling, and while it couldn’t compete with AGH’s looks to save its grandmother, it does have some functionality that would be great to have in the AGH styling as well:
1) Threads with posts you haven’t read, appear as bold. This helps a LOT with giving an instantaneous view of where you need to read to catch up.
2) As already mentioned here: The small green arrow beside the thread name takes you to the oldest of the posts you haven’t read, which is equally helpful. (But something bigger and less pixel-huntery than the green arrow would be preferable)
3) In the «home» view, the categories with unread posts are accompanied by a dark grey circle, while the ones with no new posts are light grey. This works because the background is white, so that the categories with no new posts appear as «greyed out». However, when the background is dark like in the AGH skin, this gives an opposite feeling. It toggles my brain into believing that the dark grey ones are actually the «greyed out» ones. So a switch of colour here would give a more correct indication of read vs. unread – at least in my view. Maybe even have the «new posts» circle be in another colour, like green or yellow, while the greyed out one can stay grey. Then there would be no doubt at all
To balance things a bit, quotes already look MUCH better in the AGH styling, as they appear on a shaded background so that you immediately identify them visually as quotes. Images also are much better because they are not over-sized like in the Default styling. Not to mention it actually looks pleasing, and like a warm and cosy place you’d want to hang out.

I completely agree with you. These features are common in all forums and most readers use them regularly...
I have the same problem with the default dark AGH skin and the color of the read / unread forums.
I didn't understand intuitively that white/bright means "nothing new", and dark "unread posts inside".
Even knowing which is which now, my brain keeps reading the opposite because of the higher contrast of the "read" icons on this background.
Is there any chance that someone will fix this?
(I have set the board theme in my profile to the original one for now, where new / unread threads are also marked as such)

Still crossing my fingers that it may eventually be possible, when clicking into a thread from the "New posts" search (https://community.adventuregamehotspot.c...ion=getnew), to be taken directly to the first reply in the thread that I haven't already seen (i.e. was posted since the board recorded my last visit). As a thread gets longer it's not very convenient to scroll from the top, and clicking the "Last post" link in the search results to jump to the end kinda works better in some cases, but then I have to try to remember, myself, which was the last post I saw, when scrolling backwards from the end.
