After the end of Sierra and Lucas Arts, European developers were the ones making "big budget" Adventure games.
While Microids made some more "commercial" Adventure titles, CRYO made lots of experimentations with games that, even if not too good, still amusing. Some of them are really unique in the genre. And after CRYO went under, Microids got the rights for their titles.
Here is the list of their adventure games. How many did you guys played?

I really loved the Dracula games, their weird aesthetic with their gothic style and grotesque character models are very memorable to me. The last one I played, a few months ago, was Necronomicon. "What a weird experience" is all I am going to say about this lol

Ah, Cryo games... I think I played about one third of those on the list.
Most memorable to me were Dune, Commander Blood, Lost Eden (that OST!), Hopkins: FBI (my favourite), Atlantis II, Aztec: The Curse in the Heart of the City of Gold, Faust, Ring: The Legend of the Nibelungen, Necronomicon: The Dawning of Darkness (my second favourite) and Salammbo: Battle for Carthage.
It's almost as if they intentionally tried to make every next game more different (dissimilar) than the previous.

Shoutout to Cryo! Many of these games have an uncanny quality to them - like they were reaching for the Platonic ideal of an adventure game, but they got morphed in peculiar ways. For a couple of titles, this ends up being a boon.
I'd love to hear more about your experiences with these games, especially Faust, Ring and Necronomicon.
Kamineko, did we somehow share a computer back in the day? are you secretly one of my siblings?

Dracula 1 I played as a kid back in 2001 and I was amazed! I never had play a game with so amazing graphics and Brazilian Portuguese dub! I never finished it back then, just in the 2010's. Dracula 2 had worse puzzles and story, but still cool. I like both games very much.
Necronomicon I played because I love Lovecraftian games. It was VERY funny because the Portuguese dub was from Portugal and It was kinda bad... but amusing nonetheless. And I loved the theatrics of the characters, quite fit for Lovecraftian horror. And the story was pretty solid from what was been made at the time.
Atlantis: the lost tales. One of the first games with Brazilian Portuguese dub, around the year 1998 (but I just played it a few years ago). The story and characters were ridiculous... in an endearing way! The jokes were so, so "French", like an Astérix comic book, but with slower punchlines.
The Ring was amazing! First because the art was made by Moebius and Druillet, two French comic book artists that I love! Second, the theatrics... nothing more fit for an Space Opera! So fit for the Nibelungen! Alberich was the best character!
(I didn't play The Ring 2 because I saw Mandalore review of the game and they botched my poor boy Alberich!)
Finally... Faust: seven games of soul. My favorite! I love all the stories, even if a couple of them made no sense, but as a whole the game had a GREAT story and theme. Ah... and Mephistophiles is my man! Love the character and voice actor. Pity it has the worst puzzles of all the games, but I still love It.
Oh, and I also played Jekyll & Hyde. It was not an adventure, more like a 3D plataform... and gosh, It was bad! The art style was quite good and the story was interesting, but I could not play it for more than two hours...

Played many of them, including Faust (which I loved!), Atlantis I&II, Aztec, Dracula, Ring, and Pompei.
Only few of them were really great, but they are usually quite fun despite some (or many) shortcomings.
I remember quitting Atlantis: The Lost Tales after having to repeat a timed puzzle involving a flowerpot about 35 times. Enough is enough.

Beyond Atlantis (Atlantis II), and the two Dracula games were among the very first adventure games I ever played. Other than the timed underwater event in The Last Sanctuary, which I had to repeat about 8 times, I enjoyed playing them.
I joined a group for procrastinators. We haven't met yet.
Oddly enough, the DRM-Free store Zoom-platform is the best place to get their games (with a few others on GOG and Big Fish Games:
1992 - KGB: Conspiracy
1994 - Commander Blood
1994 - Dragon Lore: The legend begins
1995 - Lost Eden (GOG)
1996 - Dragon Lore II
1997 - Atlantis: The lost Tales
1999 - Atlantis II: Beyond
1999 - Black Moon Chronicles
1999 - Drácula: ressurection
2000 - Dracula: the last sanctuary
2000 - Arthur's Knights: tales
2000 - Egypt II: heliopolis (Big Fish Games)
2001 - Arthur's Knights II: secret of merlin

I only have KGB and Commander Blood, but I haven't played them yet. Are any of the others still available for purchase?
