In theory I like the idea of a Broken Sword movie. However, in reality media-crossovers rarely work, at least for me. For example, I'm a huge fan of the X-men comics but all that colourful cartoon action craziness just doesn't translate to a live action movie with real actors. It just looks ridiculous. I can easily imagine Broken Sword becoming a sort of CGI-heavy version of Romancing the Stone unless they really have a new angle on the story.

Sure, but in a world where *super mario*, as in the stereotypical fat italian plumber who saves the princess screaming "help help" for every level in like 15 games in a row, spawns two box office hits? One could imagine that a well written story with strong characters would succeed?

Nah. Just kidding. That would assume a rational world.

Yes, and that there is the kicker! We have long since departed from rational...

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see an adaptation that captures the feel, storytelling and adventurous spirit of the games (well, most of them at least...) but I can't help but worry over 'Hollywood excess' converting it into soulless cash grab that simply sharts all over the legacy of the franchise.

Yeah but this is supposedly a new endeavor
