I vote for Mystery House.

Mystery House: the problem is that the house image is cramped and diagrammatic with too many verticals, and the purple border looks like clip art. The Mystery House logo is quite nice however.
King's Quest V: that icy blue coloured background clashes with the warmer blue of the sky in the picture and the green of the title font. I don't know what they were thinking with that choice! But overall it's a more balanced composition and a better image..
So Kings Quest V gets my vote.

That was the first vga game I played and I bought it specifically because of that box, without knowing anything else about it. The ice blue border, the snowy mountains with an ice castle and King Graham with his cape billowing in the wind while a wolf's shadow looms behind him. The Radio Shack employee tried to dissuade me from buying it because it needed a vga card, so only the beefiest computers could handle it. I'd just gotten a computer with a vga card so I convinced him it would be alright to sell it to me. Sheesh!
