Easy choice here, Space Quest all the way! Simple, classy and very aesthetically pleasing.
I’m voting for Space Quest I.
Simple and elegant design that naturally encourages you to use your imagination to ponder what the game will be like. Assuming of course you don’t actually look at the back. The EGA sticker is thankfully small enough to not distract too much.
Whereas the front cover of ‘Pepper’s Adventures in Time’ is just completely chaotic. The ‘Sierra Discovery Series’ header should be decreased in scale. That 16-bit audio sticker is larger than some of the planets in Space Quest! Though, to be fair, I do appreciate the ‘lined notepad paper’ style as being something different than usual.

Very smart and elegant design. Seeing the space scene through the letters only and leaving the rest black looks beautiful and mysterious. The name really stands and looks "minimalist" at the same time. The shinning star inside the A and the planet in the E are just perfect. Red outline closes the deal.

The other Space Quest cover is way better than this minimalist cover.
I have to vote for the Pepper one
If you had used this one it would have been an easy win

An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.
Space Quest, easy! That is some fantastic design, IMO! The inversion with the art being inside the text and the outside of the text being fully opaque black works super well, and the blue and black as contrasts to the red highlights the text in a very pleasing manner!
