It's easy to miss something in any game but that's on you.
I'll show you what I'm talking about.

In Myst Masterpiece the page can be seen in two screens and there is no way to bypass it. However in Myst 2021 movement is real time so you can look any direction and never see the little page on the rock and has it happens there are things to look at away from the rock. Also as you can see the page is much harder to spot in the new game.

Anyway not a big deal. I think it is just a bad design decision to cater so much for VR that it hurts the experience when using a monitor.
