The only downside is that it requires an internet connection to get all the features. (Which probably isn't the end of the world in 2026, but as someone who is wary of servers shutting down and games becoming unplayable, that bothers me.I actually have the now delisted 'Hitman 1' and 'Hitman 2' games on my Steam account as, if I remember correctly, there was some kind of sale/bundle for them just before they bundled everything together into the rebranded 'Hitman 3'. Kind of annoying...) But there's so much globetrotting here and the levels are on such a larger scale to the previous ones.

It would be cool if they kept the major parts of the Hitman gameplay but added in NPC dialogue trees (since Bond is anything but silent), driving (which if done right should be within larger levels instead of just scripted sequences) and mission objectives that aren't just assassinations (many options that could fit a spy theme). Perhaps that's all too much to hope for though and they may end up going down a more linear direction with it.
Great topic and really good way to get to know each other outside of our adventure tastes. I’m going to focus on non-adventure games for that reason.

Zelda was just so special to me. Being able to explore the world, experimenting with each screen while trying to find its secrets.

Red Dead Redemption is one of my all time favourites, but for some reason I just couldn't get into Red Dead Redemption 2. I did try many times but maybe it's too realistic compared to the Spaghetti Western fun of the first game. I know I'm in the minority with that opinion so I'll leave it there
I' ll add a layer as a fun twist:
Non-adventures
Childhood : Wonder Boy in Monster Land
Teenage : Eye of the Beholder II
Older : Baldur's Gate 2 (+ expansion)
Recent : Undertale
Adventures
Childhood : Leisure Suit Larry EGA
(still remember the quiz, "where do I have hair?" A.head B.palms C.Keyboard and D.Lottsa places...LOL chuckled as a child)
Teenage : Grim Fandago
Older : Heroine's Quest : Herald of Ragnarok
Recent : Legend of Skye

I'm absolutely with you on this, Srnick, but from three games to Eight?![]()
sorry for cheating
, but Baron did it too
I like that this thread isn't just about the three top 3 games, and that it isn't only about point & click adventures! Other genres provide "adventures" or puzzles as well.
Recent: "Is this seat taken?"
Older: "Baldur's Gate 3" (I know, it isn't old, but I played several other games meanwhile ...)
Childhood Favourite: "Bubble Bobble" (C64)
I also liked Giana Sisters or BattleShip etc. on the C64, but I enjoyed Bubble Bobble most, because it was a cooperative game I played with my brother. I think it was the only cooperative one we had.
