The game is simply too difficult and demands too much too quickly.
I am completely inexperienced when it comes to climbing passages and feel completely overwhelmed. If you feel the same way, you should think carefully before buying this game. Don't be fooled by YouTube videos in which players rock through the locations in a few minutes – it took me hours!
I have now uninstalled the game.
The farmer's wife's crypt was the last straw: when I jump, I land in the embers, and the character won't run to the ledge on the right. Then I do the quest “A Tale of Decay,” arrive at the waypoint, and find nothing I can do. Anyone who likes playing this kind of game probably also enjoys banging their head against a wall until it bleeds. It's pure masochism/sadism, depending on which side you're on.
There are no instructions on how to build or even restore houses.
With the skill trees, I was at least able to figure out the general direction based on ten years of WoW experience. Otherwise, you don't stand a chance here either if you haven't played something similar before.
Conclusion: The game demands too much from the player too quickly. It's only for players who have experience.

I have to revise this review now, as it was probably influenced by a lot of frustration about the bumpy start. The game is really not beginner-friendly and demands a lot right from the start without any explanations.
Once you've gotten through that, you get the most complete game ever: farming, you can let your imagination run wild with your own architecture, and you really have to think about how to conquer the world.
However, I don't understand why I have to do everything myself, despite having servants, from planting and harvesting to mining and caring for animals. I set the opponents to very easy, and there are lots of customization options here too.
There are no fixed skill trees either; you can mix them up however you like. Despite it being in early access, I haven't found any bugs yet, so you should grab it before the game is available at full price in November. I bought it on sale for under 30 euros and probably won't need any other games this year.
The only downside: it's addictive, and “just for a quick play” is an illusion.

I played it a bit. Mostly due to the idea of building. It just takes too much time. Combat seems fun far too relentless. Traversal is entertaining. It’s okay I guess .

What I like about Enshrouded is that the game adapts to me: I can complete a quest (or several), I can collect materials, or I can simply choose not to log in.
Lately, I've had a problem with adventure games in that you have to play them quickly so as not to miss the story.
But now I'm interested in adventure games again as an alternative to the alternative.
When it comes to building, there are no limits, and some people create masterpieces that follow the rules.

I tried Enshrouded twice solo and once with friends. IT has some nice aspects the graphics are nice, and game quality is decent but the story is too sad for me. I wont spoil it for others but too dark and too sad. I had hopes for it, may try again glad to see some good resources are posted here. Buildling a good house is easy with some help from the skilled players who have posted things on line. that helps a lot. good luck to all.

With the skill trees, I was at least able to figure out the general direction based on ten years of WoW experience. Otherwise, you don't stand a chance here either if you haven't played something similar before. In gaming, just like in any other industry, blindly trusting a pretty picture often leads to disappointment. This holds true everywhere. For example, when it comes to online games, I’ve also gotten into the habit of double-checking everything myself: I wanted to understand what an MGA licence means before treating it as a trust signal. Many casino pages show a logo without explaining how a player can verify it. I found a focused list of casinos with Malta license at https://interacasino.com/licenses/mga/. That page helped me identify the relevant operators and the checks I should make. I then looked for the licence number, matched the operator details, and reviewed the withdrawal and complaint terms. It was a much safer approach than assuming every Malta reference on a footer was automatically valid.
Conclusion: The game demands too much from the player too quickly. It's only for players who have experience.
I understand your frustration and disappointment with *Enshrouded*: this game really masquerades as a cozy survival game, but in reality, it throws newcomers into a hardcore platformer with strict timing requirements that no one prepares you for. You’re absolutely right about the YouTube videos—experienced players with top-tier grappling hooks and a maxed-out double jump breeze through these tombs in seconds, creating the illusion of a walk in the park, while the average player spends hours dying in lava and struggling to land on rough ledges.
I ended up playing the game some more after I got the hang of it, and at times I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I had to get the best glider and top gear from a supermarket server, which made things a lot easier, but that's not the point of the game.
After that, I hit another slump: the lifeless world, the NPCs hanging around my house with nothing but chores to do (I was the only one in the whole household who worked), and getting on my nerves just by being there—that wasn’t for me. The pets are constantly stuck in corners where you wonder how they ever managed to get there.
Above all, as you progress through the game, it offers nothing new—you mine materials and get recipes in return, and at some point I just didn’t care anymore. You grind through quests and kill roots, over and over again, like on a hamster wheel.
I was always too inept at building.
I’m playing WoW now, after getting back into it through World of Claudecraft.
There are some parts of the quote that I didn't write—just a note. Could you please mark those accordingly?
