Discovering this forum from listening to the Adventure Game Hotspot podcast (which I also only recently discovered) is like finding a magical Time Twisting Device™, erasing the entire Dark Age of Social Media and all things Zuckerbergian, and just continuing where we left off in 2008 or whenever regular forums started to die..! It makes me happy! Big Grin

So, my most immediate question: Are there anyone who used to hang out on the good old AdventureGamers forums? Please raise your voice! Big Grin

I used to hang out there in the early 2000s, first as Freddie_Melon, then later with some other nickname I don’t even remember anymore. I was in my early 20s then, and a part of an aspiring game developing team only consisting of people from that forum – we were making a Film Noir inspired adventure game based only on characters, that is actual people, from the AG forums! It started out as a fun little thing, then it became overly ambitious, and sadly, it was never finished. I was the composer and a lot of the score was actually half-finished. Today I am a composer for theatre, films and television, and I know that several of the other people from that team went on to work in game development also. Smile

Any other AG-old-timers here, then I would love to catch up! Big Grin

Not me. I’ve been around forever and once did have an account there, but I always had another forum home.

It’s nice to meet you, regardless Smile

And you! Big Grin

But oh no! This was supposed to go in the «Hangout» category. I managed to put it in the «Site Feedback» category, which was not the intention at all. Is it possible to move it to the correct place?

Yup, been in most if not all Adventure forums. Just Adventure, Adventure Gamers etc Have always used the same username for years.

I think Gameboomers is the only one I never joined

An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.

I was there from the late 90's. Overall, I mostly lurked, and due to the flux of free email addresses I had atleast three different handles (Don't remember either of them now). But I do recognize several handles and avatars from back in the day. I was even a patreon at one time, but the whole site quickly went tits up with all games being 5 stars and increasingly toxic forums, so it didn't last very long.

That site used to be great though. Good times.

Good times indeed! I wasn’t the most active user either, but it felt like a cool community at the time, with a wonderful bunch of people. Some of them I still chat with from time to time.

Certainly did and have been residing in the ProBoards site created by Intense Degree in the aftermath of the AG debacle.  Lady K has just notified there that these forums were now up and running so expect a few more signing up in the near future.

Pretty much the same for me, except that I only started visiting in the early 2000s. I was never a very active forum poster, but I had multiple accounts over the decades whose passwords I always lost. I expect I won't be a very active forum poster here, either, but it's an exciting thing to have as part of the site. (And based on the low-drama vibes in the Hotspot Discord over the past few years, I feel like any forum toxicity that might try to rear its head will be nipped in the bud pretty quickly.)

I was a member and then a mod at AG until, between one hour and the next, I wasn't. I don't remember when I first registered, but the end was memorable.

I’m sorry. I haven’t been on the AG forums since about 2005, so I had no idea what had happened to AG until I heard about it on your podcast. I don’t get exactly what happened (and it is not my business anyway), but I do get that it really must have sucked.

Maybe I shouldn’t have created this thread. I guess my enthusiasm for possibly meeting some old friends got the better of me.  Undecided
