Oh my goodness, Threads of Fate! I played the demo on a disc that came with another PS1 Square game and never got a chance to play the full thing --but I thought the demo was *so* cool! This is the ultimate forgotten Squaresoft game, I'd love to finally play it. It reminded me of Klonoa or Tomba, but with a bit more RPG in it.

Kudos on mentioning Koudelka, too. Another really intriguing PS1 game that I never got around to playing, but always tempted me at game stores. The prequel to Shadow Hearts, right?

I'm so sorry I'm just getting around to replying to this, months later! Threads of Fate is fantastic - I highly recommend it if you can get your hands on it. I actually replayed it for the first time over the summer, and the platforming is a bit more frustrating than I remembered, but aside from that it still holds up well.

Koudelka is my favorite game of all time and such an underrated gem. Yes, it's the prequel to the more popular Shadow Hearts games, and Koudelka herself even makes an appearance in the first Shadow Hearts. Koudelka's main developer had ideas to differentiate it from other JRPGs at the time that I wish he could've implemented. Unfortunately, they ended up playing it safe, and as a result the battle system leaves much to be desired. Still, I love the game for its writing, atmosphere, and theater-esque acting. It's wonderful to experience.
