I didn’t know about an Odyssey adventure game but it certainly makes sense that there would be one. Was the game good?

The Professor Layton movie is fine. Its like a long cutscene from the games, and its fine.

The Ace Attorney movie is fine as well. I've seen it three times for some reason. I like how it puts a lot of weight on the tragic and light dystopic elements of the source material, and emphasises them in ways engaging for film. Its good. If you want to feel the weight of Edgeworth's trauma, and the incompetent legal system which prevented him from healing, this is the adaptation that makes you really feel it. To the detriment of other elements, but its a fair trade off.

I've also seen the Ace Attorney anime adaptation and it sucks. Few adaptation changes lead to a straightforward retelling of the games, but without the gameplay that makes it compelling. The original additions are the best part, and parts I believe a superfan should see, but casuals... Skip...

The Thing about videogame adaptations I've seen is that they're at best average (affectionate). I've seen more than listed, but its not adventure games. I think it's reasonable expectations, but I don't get cinephile excited about these movies. Oh well. Who cares.

I've heard it starts strong but takes an awfully long time to get where it's going.

Good question, was looong ago I played it, so I forgot the puzzles, but for sure liked the story and I remember that I enjoyed it
